IN THIS MOMENT Guitarist CHRIS HOWORTH: 'We're A Real Band'

In a brand new interview with UK's Metal Hammer magazine, IN THIS MOMENT guitarist Chris Howorth has denied that the attention the group's lead singer, Maria Brink, gets from the media and fans is a potential problem for him and his other bandmates.

"If she wasn't in the band, then it wouldn't be the same," he said. "She's got something special. She needs to be held up as the frontperson for this band because she is awesome."

He continued: "I don't want to downplay her role in the band just to appease some stupid, grungy idea. But come and see us live and you will see that we're a real band and I know my role.

"I'm happy in my place and with my contribution."

Chris added: "Look at 'Star Wars'; yeah, Darth Vader is cool, but if it was just him on his own, then it'd still be cool, but it's so much cooler with all the other stuff."

Brink herself dismissed any suggestion that IN THIS MOMENT is not a real band and merely a set of backing musicians plus one focal point.

"I love Chris," she said. "He's always been my biggest supporter and he is lterally my brother. We'll know each other when we're both 90. I know it. And those [other] guys are rock stars! They bring it every night onstage."

IN THIS MOMENT's fifth studio album, titled "Black Widow", will be released on November 17. The CD was once again helmed by Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, HELLYEAH, PAPA ROACH) at his The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Black Widow" is available for pre-order on the iTunes Store and other digital retailers. The album is being offered to fans in an array of distinctive configurations, including a very special vinyl piece exclusively available at Atlantic's webstore. All pre-orders will receive four instant grat downloads prior to the album release.

IN THIS MOMENT last year inked a new deal with Atlantic Records, a division of Warner Music Group, following the completion of its contract with Century Media Records.

IN THIS MOMENT released all four of its previous studio efforts through Century Media, including "Blood".

"Blood" was IN THIS MOMENT's highest-charting album, reaching No. 15 on the Billboard album chart, while the title track became the band's first-ever Top 10 hit at rock radio.
